Between resting completely on our stomachs or completely on our
sides, there are an incredible amount of different transitional
positions, which can lead to potential discomforts in the back or hips.
"My back hurts, and I don't know why! HELP…" Why does this back pain happen in the first place? As the body moves from a flat, symmetrical stomach sleeping position to help alleviate slight discomfort found in the delicate toes and ankles,
again described in more detail in the "Front Uses: Back Discomfort" part of the site, we move into different circumstances that can lead to discomfort. When one of the legs is moving up, out, and away from the body, the mid-section or torso area of the body begins to rise up from the sleeping surface (Image 1). In any of these 'transitional' resting positions, we lack support starting with the lower back and potentially all the way into a total lack of support for the entire torso region (Image 2)!
This can lead us to tossing and turning, discomfort, or even pain! (You can read about the Importance of Sleep in the "Sleep and Mortality" page.) With the inability of the body to rest comfortably AND evenly on the resting surface, the body 'hangs' and becomes 'stressed' without proper support. Because the body does not like the discomfort, we have a tendency to shift and change resting positions to alleviate subsequent discomfort(s). Unfortunately, this does not completely help the overall sleeping position's problem(s), but only provides us with temporary relief. Eventually, more circumstantial discomforts arise, which basically lead to tossing and turning! More tossing and turning, the less quality sleep we achieve. Bummer! With the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow, you can choose the way you want to intercede and support the torso region! With the 'high-end-in' method you can provide maximum height and support with a comfortable support slope for the leg, which leads gradually to the resting surface (Image 3). Without the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow, the weight of the leg and lower abdominal area will lack support and pull down on the lower back and hip region, which can lead to discomfort and greater amounts of tossing and turning!
It's a body memory foam pillow! With the 'low-end-in' method, you can have a seamless integration of the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow into the sleep environment, with a gentle elevation and support (Image 4 ), chosen by you. Because of the visco-elastic material and the studied height and shape of the low-end, you and the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow will merge seamlessly as you are being supported in a whole new way! As with other uses, within this method you can find your own desired torso elevation and support, which translates into your own chosen level of comfort!
Forgetaboutit…tossing and turning, restless nights of sleep, and body pains! You can now help yourself rest with greater comfort with the anatomically correct Stasis Sleep™ Pillow. You are going to simply fall in love with your new pillows! And, this is only one of MANY ways you can use your Stasis Sleep™ Pillow! In fact, there are many more, full-body uses from which you can choose. Check it out…you will not be disappointed!
